Bio
Having qualified as the third official Paramedic in Cornwall, Dave has spent 43 years in the NHS as a specialist clinician, health leader, educator and operations officer.

Dave draws from his many years of experience in advanced clinical roles as a Fast Response Motorcycle Paramedic, Air Ambulance Paramedic and Search and Rescue Paramedic to lead as the Director of Operations for Cornwall Ambulance Service. Within this role Dave oversees the operational delivery of innovative healthcare solutions, which most recently has seen him designing and implementing Command and Control strategies for Cornwall’s large-scale COVID-19 vaccination response as the lead commander.

Alongside his clinical career, Dave is a passionate educator and has held multiple roles designing and delivering training across a wide array of emergency, urgent care and primary care subject areas.

Dave is just as active outside of work and spends his time with his family, training in the gym, walking and watching Rugby union (whilst wishing he was still playing it!).

Bio
Steve is a Consultant Paramedic, educator and health leader with over 25 years of experience within the NHS.

Having worked within various frontline emergency ambulance service positions, Steve progressed into advanced clinical roles in emergency medicine as a Fast Response Motorcycle Paramedic, Air Ambulance Paramedic and Search and Rescue Paramedic. During his employment within the ambulance service, he was the Operational Locality Manager for West Cornwall and Isles of Scilly for 10 years, managing and supporting over 230 staff and working with the community and commissioners to improve emergency and urgent care within Cornwall. He also has many years of training experience delivering Pre-Hospital Life Support, Geriatric Emergency Medicine and Advanced Paediatric Trauma Life Support.

Steve has now transitioned his practice into the delivery of primary and urgent care, working in advanced practice roles in minor injury units and most recently in integrated urgent care as an Advanced Paramedic and non-medical prescriber. As the Clinical Director, Steve oversees all clinical aspects of Cornwall Ambulance Service, driving innovative clinical delivery of services and supporting clinical operations throughout the team.

Outside of work, Steve enjoys surfing, paddle boarding, spearfishing, walking the dog and spending time with his beautiful wife Cathy.

Simon Williams

Bio
Simon is an Advanced Paramedic and dedicated educationalist with over 36 years of experience as a as a Paramedic within the NHS in Cornwall.

Simon is proud to have co-designed and acted as the joint first Paramedic for a number of innovative services across the county, including his position as joint first Air Ambulance Paramedic and the first Paramedic to work in a minor injury unit in Cornwall.

As a lead voice in driving innovation, Simon co-led the introduction of pre-hospital thrombolysis in Cornwall, led the delivery of the Isles of Scilly Ambulance as project lead and developed fixed wing air ambulance operations for a regional airline, gaining recognition from the Prime Minister for his achievements.

As a passionate educationalist, Simon draws from over 10 years of experience as an airline pilot to deliver training and education in his specialist area of Human Factors, alongside multiple other clinical areas.

Outside of work, Simon enjoys cycling, cooking, mechanics and is an avid cider maker!

Norman Trebilcock MBE

Bio
Norman is a Paramedic, charity founder and experienced clinical manager with over 40 years services in the NHS.

Throughout his clinical career, Norman has worked across several pre-hospital areas to include roles as a frontline emergency ambulance Paramedic, Fast Response Motorcycle Paramedic, Search and Rescue Paramedic and Clinical Support Officer providing clinical and logistical support to front line staff.

In addition to his clinical work, over the last 30 years Norman has founded and managed the charity FLEET (Front Line Emergency Equipment Trust). Within this role, Norman has provided thousands of pounds for ambulance equipment, helping standardise every ambulance in Cornwall, develop Community Responders and provide public access defibrillators throughout Cornwall. In addition to this, in 2019, Norman oversaw FLEET funding and procurement of 69 defibrillators which have been placed onto every Community Police car in Cornwall.

In 2001, Norman was one of the very first BBC NHS Unsung Heroes and in 2002 went on to be recognised as Unsung Hero by the Daily Mail. In 2008, he was awarded the MBE for his service to the community and in 2012 was very privileged to carry the Olympic Torch as it made its way through Cornwall.

Outside of work Normal is a passionate runner and organises a FLEET Team of at least 20 runners for the annual London Marathon which raises thousands of pounds every year. This year is Norman’s 27th Marathon!
